Indulge in the pinnacle of tequila craftsmanship with Avión Reserva 44 Extra Añejo. Handcrafted in extremely limited batches, this multi-award-winning flagship tequila represents the absolute height of the Avión range. It is born from 100% single-estate Blue Weber agave, hand-harvested at peak maturity from the highest elevations of Jesús María in the highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco, Mexico.
What sets Reserva 44 apart is its meticulous, two-step 44-month maturation process. The liquid spends its first 43 months resting patiently in traditional American oak ex-whiskey casks. For its final, decisive 44th month, the spirit is transferred into specially selected petite oak barrels that are physically rotated by hand every single day to maximize wood contact. This unique double-aging technique draws out incredibly deep, concentrated barrel flavors while preserving the natural sweetness of the roasted highland agave. Each crystal decanter is individually numbered and hand-signed by the founder.
🌟 Tasting Notes
Appearance: A deep, warm amber hue accented by rich golden and copper glints.
Aroma: Intensely complex and inviting. Upfront notes of roasted agave, salted caramel, and rich butterscotch give way to warm vanilla bean, toasted hazelnuts, marzipan, and a delicate twist of fresh lime zest.
Palate: Decadent, full-bodied, and remarkably velvety on the entry. Lush layers of dark chocolate, butterscotch, and a rich, tres leches creaminess coat the mouth, seamlessly balanced by warm cinnamon bark, dried stone fruits, and a gentle kick of black pepper.
Finish: Exceptionally long, gentle, and warming. It tapers off slowly with lingering notes of sweet vanilla cream, eucalyptus, toasted oak, and a faint whisper of pipe tobacco.
🥃 Serving & Pairing Suggestions
Engineered to rival the finest aged cognacs and whiskeys, Avión Reserva 44 is designed first and foremost as a luxury sipping tequila. Serve it neat at room temperature in a tulip glass, or over a single large ice cube to let its intricate layers slowly unfurl. If mixing, it serves as a spectacular, ultra-premium substitute for bourbon in a Tequila Old Fashioned. Pair it alongside dark chocolate truffles, crème brûlée, mole-sauced dishes, or a premium cigar.
