Código 1530 Rosa Blanco is a premium, additive-free blanco tequila that breaks traditional rules by being briefly aged in red wine casks. It is widely celebrated for its natural blush pink hue and its unique crossover profile between a crisp silver tequila and a light, fruity red wine.
The Production Process
The Base: It begins as a standard 100% Blue Weber Agave Blanco distilled at Varo Destilería (NOM 1616) in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico.
The Wine Twist: While standard blancos are bottled completely unaged, the Rosa Blanco is rested for 1 month in uncharred French White Oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Because it is aged for fewer than 60 days, it retains its legal "Blanco" classification.
Zero Additives: The spirit contains no added sugars, artificial flavorings, or synthetic colorings—the pink tint is drawn entirely from the wine left behind in the wood.
Tasting Profile
Nose: Bright cooked agave intermingled with prominent floral notes, white flowers, citrus, and a subtle red berry aroma from the Cabernet cask.
Palate: Highly approachable and silky. It leads with clean, sweet agave and black pepper, which quickly give way to mild red wine tannins and soft hints of strawberry, dried cranberry, and orange zest.
Finish: Crisp, dry, and earthy with a touch of mineral salinity and lingering floral warmth.
How to Serve It
While highly enjoyable neat or over ice, its delicate wine-forward character makes it popular for elevating cocktails. It works incredibly well as a replacement for gin in a Rosa 75 (a tequila riff on the French 75 with lemon juice and Champagne) or paired with club soda and a lime wedge for a crisp, low-calorie spritz
